Welcome to NoFo Life!

Welcome to my blog and my very first post. Yay! I’ve been so excited to launch this puppy. Going to start this journey with a quick background about me, a few reasons why I’ve started this, and what you can expect when you visit. 

My name is Mariah Mills, I’m 31 years old, and I was born and raised on the North Fork of Long Island aka “the NoFo”. My roots go WAYYYY back on the North Fork, as far back as 1628 to be exact. Crazy right?! My husband, Kevin, is not from here. He was born and raised in the boonies of New Jersey and moved out here 7 years ago, which makes him a NoFo transplant. We are college sweethearts (that’s a thing right?) and got married on the NoFo in October 2017.

We’re designing and building our very first home. We purchased our land in 2018 and up until now it’s been mostly a lot of planning and even more paperwork. Now that our home build project is really about to take off, I wanted an easy way to share the journey with our family, friends and followers. From a foundation (which is all we have right now), to a finished cozy home, I’ll be sharing it all. 

By day, I’m a full-time Real Estate Advisor with Daniel Gale Sotheby’s Int’l Realty. I’m constantly fielding questions regarding the home buying and/or selling process so I wanted a place to share all important real estate related information. From buyer & seller guides to home maintenance tips to top things you can do to help sell your home faster to current market statistics…etc. Whether you are ready to make moves now, or in the future, I’m hoping you’ll benefit from this.

Kevin and I thoroughly enjoy the simple, laid back North Fork lifestyle and fully embrace all things this beautiful place has to offer. From boat days on Peconic Bay, to relaxing on our beautiful beaches, to sipping on local wines or brews. I’ll be sharing all things NoFo for sure! Things like local events, my favorite foodie spots, top things to do in each season, etc.

Lastly, and honestly, I’ll be throwing in other very random posts, but I promise they will be fun and valuable. I’m viewing this new venture as a creative outlet that allows me to inspire others, but also be inspired by all the talented people in the world. So stick around! I’m excited to take this ride and I’m hoping you’ll ride along with me.
